Paula Williamson, the wife of Britain’s most notorious prisoner Charles Bronson was found dead on Monday morning.
Staffordshire Police confirmed Paula had died and her body had been found at a house in the Sneyd Green area of Stoke-on-Trent.
Who was Paula and what shows did she appear in?
The 38-year-old actress was best known for her role in Coronation Street where she appeared three times between 2008 and 2012 as an unnamed nurse.
She also starred in TV shows including Hollyoaks where she played a doctor, Scott & Bailey and Emmerdale, where she played a stripper.
Along with her numerous soap credits, she appeared in two episodes of Appropriate Adult in 2008, where she played Kirsty Stephens.
Who was she married to?
Paula married famed British criminal Charles Bronson, 66, after she visited him in prison on numerous occasions.
Charles is serving a life sentence for robbery and kidnapping.
The pair grew close over the year after they became penpals and he even serenaded her down the phone on Valentine’s day 2017 with a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s My Way.
When did Paula marry Charles Bronson?
The couple tied the knot in a service that took place in a chapel at Wakefield jail on November 14, 2017.
A reception was held at a local hotel after Paula was led through the town by a Bronson lookalike and a woman on a mobility scooter.
Following the wedding, she flew out to Malta without her new husband, who was taken back to his cell.
When did Paula divorce Charles Bronson?
Paula filed for an annulment on July 2018, just one year after their wedding.
Charles was reportedly left seething after seeing pictures of his wife emerged showing a man burying his head in her boobs as she partied on holiday.
Paula was left “devastated” by the split, later explaining that it had just been a “dare”.
She told the Sun: “I’m absolutely devastated. I can’t stop crying.
“I made one stupid mistake. It was just a dare.
“They took the snap and in that one second they ended my marriage.”
When did Paula die and what was the cause of her death?
Paula was found dead in a house in Sneyd Green on July 29, 2019, Staffs police confirmed.
Police said her death is not being treated as suspicious and a post mortem will take place to discover how she died.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “A woman from Stoke-on-Trent who was found dead this morning (29 July) has been named as Paula Williamson, aged 38.
“A report is now being prepared for the Coroners.
“Next of kin have been informed. The family have asked for their right to privacy to allow them to grieve at this difficult time.”
