Duane Chapman has gone on a shocking homophobic rant, declaring ‘Jesus was not a sissy’ and claiming people who don’t attend church are to blame for ‘kids changing their sexuality’.
The reality star, 70, who is also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter was given his own TV series back in 2004, in which he was followed by cameras while undertaking bounty hunting jobs.
Over the years, he’s courted controversy several times, and has now done so again.
Speaking to Christian ministry founder Sharell Barrera in a clip that was shared online, Chapman claimed: ‘For many years, these holy rollers have done just that – rolled around.
‘And you see where they’ve got us now. They’ve got kids changing their sexuality.
‘They talk about tithing more than they do about what’s going on.’
He then went on to call for people to help ‘stop all that’ and ‘rebuke them’, insisting the people he was speaking about needed to be ‘saved’.
He continued: ‘They’re so wacko themselves that where they have brought us all is to the gates of hell. So we have to stop all that, rebuke them.’
‘Jesus was not a sissy … he was not a sissy man.’
As Barrera and his wife Francie Frane cheered him on, Chapman said that ‘we don’t need no more sissy men’.
‘We need men and women that are willing to stand up against evil and speak the word of God.’
The former bail bondsman then appeared to refer to Target losing a reported $9 million (£6 million) in the week following their Pride merchandising being boycotted.
‘All these guys that are backing those jokers up are taking billion-dollar beatings, they’re falling,’ he said.
Not missing his chance to make one last shocking remark, he took aim at the LBTQ+ community again: ‘He [God] didn’t make Adam and Steve, he made Adam and Eve.’
No stranger to controversy, Chapman’s political beliefs and rhetoric saw him come under fire a few years ago when he called President Joe Biden ‘little Hitler’ and accused him of stealing the 2020 election.
Some of his own children, of which he has 12, have also publicly cut ties with Chapman.
In 2021 daughter Bonnie published a length statement accusing her dad of racism, homophobic and infidelity and claimed she wasn’t invited to his wedding with Frane due to her participation in the Black Lives Matter movement.
