Eamonn Holmes would 'drink horse pee' if it cured his health problems

Eamonn Holmes revealed the shocking and somewhat disturbing lengths he would go to in order to feel better in his body.

The 63-year-old GB News Breakfast presenter opened up about how he was dealing with his back pain that has restricted his movement in the past and caused him to use crutches.

The star first experienced back pain which came out of nowhere in 2021 and later discovered he had three slipped disks, affecting the mobility in his right leg.

Speaking about different methods to help ease the pain, Eamonn told Best magazine: ‘Ruth [Langsford] shakes her head if I’ve been trying an alternative treatment, but honestly, I would drink horse pee if it worked for me.

‘I spend a lot of money on trying to get better.’

Eamonn’s update came after he revealed more details about his back troubles during a segment on the breakfast show he co-hosts with Isabelle Webster.

Touching on his own well-being while chatting with guest Tim Franklin – who was running around the world – the TV presenter said he was finding spinal surgery recovery challenging.

He reflected on his operation which he had one year ago in September and explained that he had since had a dangerous fall.

Tim was telling the star about his own ailments and back issues when Eamonn shared that he ‘hadn’t recovered’ from his own and admitted: ‘I can’t run, I can’t walk, I can’t do anything except watch TV and eat’.

He continued: ‘I just got problems last year in my back, which I haven’t recovered from. It’s not good, it’s not a good recipe I have to say.’

Prior to his surgery in 2022, Holmes had undergone a double hip replacement in 2016, which he previously said he had been putting off ‘for years’.

Eamonn is married to Loose Women star Ruth Langsford and the duo presented This Morning’s Friday show until ITV confirmed in November 2020 that the duo would be replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.
