Horror as Ellie Goulding is hit in face with burning Pyro mid-performance

Ellie Goulding got a real fright while performing at Victorious Festival in Portsmouth this weekend.

In a shocking moment, the singer, 36, was hit in the face by Pyro – aka fire – while belting out her club banger Miracle.

The flame went off at the wrong time, leaving Ellie startled as it blasted into her face.

Ellie could then be heard screaming and shouting, ‘F**k!’, totally understandably, before running away from the Pyro machine and holding her face.

It was bound to have been a scary ordeal, but it seems Ellie was very lucky and is ok.

While she hasn’t addressed the technical slip-up, she did post to Instagram shortly after her performance at the event, sharing a shot of the crowd.

Ellie delighted thousands of revellers with her tunes, looking chic in an all-black ensemble.

The Starry Eyed hitmaker sported an asymmetrical top and jeans combo, with her blonde locks styled in loose waves.

Ellie put on an energetic show for 170,000 festival-goers, with the likes of Mumford & Son, Raye, and Kasabian also on the Victorious line-up.

Her appearance at the gig only added to a busy weekend for Ellie, who was invited by Calvin Harris to an Ibiza party the night before.

Donning a futuristic patterned bodysuit, the On My Mind singer showed off her toned physique as she made DJ Calvin’s closing bash a night to remember.

She joined Calvin’s island celebrations to perform their number one tune Miracle together on stage at Ushuaïa.

It seems Ellie is throwing herself into work in the months after it was announced she was spending time apart from her husband Caspar Jopling.

The couple began dating in 2017 and tied the knot at York Minster four years ago following a 12-month-long engagement.

Then, in August 2021, they welcomed their son Arthur.

Despite marriage woes, they’re reportedly continuing to co-parent amicably.

Speaking about their separation, a source told The Sun that Ellie and Caspa have had ‘ups and downs for a while’ but they ‘have always strongly felt they wanted to stay together so they could both be with their son.’

‘In the end, they’ve tried to find a compromise where they continue to share lots of time together for their son Arthur, but outside of that sometimes live separate lives for now,’ the insider added.

‘There is no discussion of a divorce and neither of them have been in a new relationship…’
