There are few things more pure than a child’s first wobbly steps. When they really get the hang of it, though, all bets are off — and that’s where everyone’s favorite shiplap-loving Fixer Upper couple is now. Joanna and Chip Gaines shared a video of their son Crew walking down a hallway in their gorgeous home, and the 1-year-old looks like he’s about ready to start running full-speed around the farm with his four older siblings.
It was only two weeks ago that Chip revealed to fans that the baby of the Gaines family had taken his first steps. In the photo from the family’s, Crew can be seen standing with his arms in the air, as Chip stands a few feet away with his arms outstretched, ready to welcome his little boy into them.
So, it was only a matter of time before the little guy got used to being vertical and really started cruising. While we don’t know precisely when that transition took place, Joanna took to Instagram on Monday, July 29, to share the first video of baby Crew walking. She aptly captioned the sweet clip, “… annnnd we have a walker!”
In the video, Crew toddled down a hallway in the family home — which, unsurprisingly, has Joanna’s signature style all over it. We don’t blame the little guy for wanting to get up and explore what treasures the farmhouse might hold — wouldn’t you want to do the same? In any case, Crew looked adorable in a striped T-shirt and blue shorts, showing off the trademark waddle of a little one who is still mastering the whole walking thing.
It’s been a whirlwind few months for the smallest member of the Gaines crew. In late June, crew celebrated his first trip around the sun. To commemorate the occasion, Joanna and Chip threw a party at their home, complete with a smash cake cute Crew dove headfirst into. (Chip got into it, too!). Factor in the first steps and now walking, and it seems like baby Crew may have inherited his mom’s focus and his dad’s endless energy.
But, make no mistake, it sounds like baby Crew is bringing his own unique traits to the table as well. “This little boy is so joyful and so curious and is keeping us on our toes, and it has been so amazing to see him with his brothers and sisters,” Joanna wrote in her youngest son’s birthday post. “The addition of Crew to our family has been the greatest gift.”
