Keanu Reeves has reportedly swapped John Wick for Jedis and joined the Star Wars universe.
The Matrix actor, 58, is rumoured to have filmed a cameo appearance in the upcoming Disney Plus series, The Acolyte, set 100 years before film Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.
It’s unclear what the Speed star’s role is, although he would be among a cast that includes Queen & Slim’s Jodie Turner-Smith, Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae, and Dafne Keen, who featured in His Dark Materials.
British YouTuber Abigail Thorn, 30, is also thought to star in the spin-off, which would make her the first transgender actress in the Star Wars franchise.
The reports of Keanu’s involvement was featured on Giant Freakin Robot, which claimed they were tipped off by ‘trusted and proven’ sources.
While plot details have been kept under wraps, the announcement revealed The Acolyte is ‘a mystery-thriller that will take the audience into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.’

Variety reported that The Acolyte will be a ‘female-centric series that takes place in a different part of the Star Wars timeline than other projects’, according to sources.
Let’s hope that if Keanu is in the series, the promo rounds won’t feature an interview with Roman Kemp.
The Capital DJ, 30, interviewed the legend for John Wick: Chapter 4 and it’s safe to say it made everybody squirm.
The Ted & Bill actor was understandably baffled when Roman asked him questions like whether his character John Wick could beat the nation’s PE teacher Joe Wicks in a fight. Yup.
Keanu, in addition to being the internet’s favourite actor, recently revealed his band Dogstar was set to release their first album in 23 years.
Dogstar announced their return after giving their first live vocal performance since 2002 back in May.
The Point Break star plays bass guitar in the trio while Bret Domrose takes lead vocals and Rob Mailhouse plays drums.
Metro.co.uk has reached out to Keanu and Disney’s reps for comment.
The Acolyte is coming to Disney Plus in 2024.
