Stacey Solomon and her husband Joe Swash recently returned from a beautiful holiday in Turkey.
But when the Loose Women star posted a slew of sun-drenched snaps of their time away, some of the 33-year-old’s 5.7million Instagram followers showered the mum-of-five with criticism, which the former X Factor star was quick to address, telling fans to ‘unfollow’ her if they didn’t like her content.
Stacey revealed that Joe and their family had stayed at the luxury Regnum Carya hotel, which at this time of year can cost tens of thousands of pounds.
The star explained that her family had been offered a discount on their stay, captioning her post: ‘Our last day in paradise. The last ten days have been heaven and I don’t want it all to end.
‘Spending time with my family is just the best thing in world. And this place was just MAGICAL.
‘Thank you for the memories @regnumcarya too the moon and back family.
‘Ad we got a discount from our travel agent @trendingtravel on this hotel.’
It didn’t take long for disgruntled comments to pile up beneath Stacey’s post, with one person writing: ‘She doesn’t live in the real world anymore.’
Another called the price tag ‘outrageous’ while someone else said: ‘How relatable a 47k holiday.’
‘Blimey… I wish I could afford £40k on a holiday. That’s more than a year’s salary for most working-class people,’ said another Instagrammer.
Someone else wrote: ‘No wonder it looks empty, no one else can afford it.’
However, others jumped to Stacey’s defence, with one person pointing out: ‘Dear God, I look at some of these comments and think [if] you can afford it then go for it, why be negative?’
Another echoed: ‘Are we really bothered about how much it was and if she did or didn’t pay full price, Jesus Christ she says at the start of her post it was discounted, let her and her family enjoy the holiday and live life. Life is for living & making memories.’
Stacey also addressed the criticism on her Instagram stories over the weekend, telling fans to ‘unfollow’ her if they don’t like the content she posts.
Uploading another snap of her family’s holiday, Stacey said: ‘I’ll do a little holiday Q&A while I’m on my way to work tomorrow night so feel free to ask away.
‘If me sharing our holiday doesn’t make you feel good then unfollow or just mute me or something. I love coming on here and sharing things so much and I love our community on here.
‘All I ever want is to take you on the adventure with us and hopefully make you smile along the way.’
