Strictly Come Dancing will be returning to our TV screens in a matter of months, and the casting team have reportedly signed Angela Scanlon up to appear on the show.
The presenter, who has previously fronted The One Show, is said to be putting on her dancing shoes for the upcoming 21st series.
The team behind the BBC show allegedly think that the 39-year-old is ‘perfect’ for the job, and they’re expecting she goes far.
‘It is hard to get the mix right for Strictly every year but producers think that Angela is perfect for it,’ a TV insider explained to Goss.ie.
‘Every year the producers like to have a glamourous yet wholesome TV presenter as the fans love them.’
It is reported that she’s previously been approached, but the timings weren’t quite right.
Angela is pretty well known after getting her first mainstream gig hosting Robot Wars in 2016. She currently presents BBC show Your House Made Perfect, where homeowners are presented designs by two different architects and select one for their home. She also fronts Your Garden Made Perfect with a similar concept but for the great outdoors.
Her previous occupation could be some help during the competition, as she once toured the world with the O’Shea Irish Dance Company.
The Irish star now lives in North London with husband Roy Horgan, and their two daughters.
Metro.co.uk contacted BBC, who responded: ‘We don’t comment on speculation.’
Also, rumoured to be taking part in the upcoming series is Adam Thomas.
The Waterloo actor is no stranger to the programme and its content as he previously joked that he wanted to experience its infamous curse.
The ‘Strictly curse’ is a term used to describe when celebrities end up in romantic relationships with their professional dance partners.
The Sun reported that he said: ‘Bring it all on. I love a bit of glitz and glam.
‘I just want to experience the Strictly curse.’
Adam, 34, was very much joking as he married his long-term girlfriend Caroline Daly in 2017. The couple have children Elsie-Rose, five, and son Teddy, eight, who plays his son Tommy on Waterloo Road.
