‘Another interesting choice!’ Princess Charlene wows in smart suit

Charlene looked beautiful in a monochrome ensemble as she joined her husband for the ceremony last night, which also marked the start of a series of events to celebrate the centenary of Rainier’s birth. The late Prince Rainier died in April 2005, decades after his wife, Princess Grace of Monaco, who was killed in a car accident in 1982.

For the ceremony in Monaco, Charlene opted for a double-breasted wool-cashmere blazer from Parosh, which is currently on sale on Farfetch.com for $624, or £578.

The blazer was black and had a large, open collar, and stand-out buttons.

The Princess matched this with a pair of pleated, wide-leg trousers, also from Parosh. These are also available on Farfetch, for $377, or £349.

Although Charlene favours a good suit, the royal hasn’t been seen wearing this Parosh suit before and so it seems to be new.

Underneath the blazer, Charlene donned a white blouse from Akris, which she has worn on many a previous occasion.

She wore the blouse with its collar standing up, revealing a necklace around her neck.

The necklace had a silver chain and fetaured a large pearl pendant that matched her earrings, which were also dangling pearls.

Charlene completed the look with a thick belt around her waist and a pair of black leather heels.

The heels were the Asymmetric Black Leather Pumps from Giorgio Armani, seen many times on Charlene’s feet.

The Princess’ short, blonde hair was slicked back in a side parting and she wore minimal make-up.

Meanwhile, Prince Albert donned a navy blue suit with a lighter blue tie and black shoes.

The royal couple were pictured in front on a billboard that revealed the new logo that will be used to celebrate the centenary of Rainier’s birth.

Next year, 2023, marks 100 years since the late royal’s death and the logo is an image of him, looking sideways, in a red diamond.

Rainier was born in 1923 and became Prince of Monaco in May 1949, at the age of 25. This was following his father’s death, Prince Louis II.

Royal fans were quick to comment on Charlene’s look as she stepped out for the engagement yesterday.
