The video has racked up over 785,000 views, and only requires a handful of ingredients.

All you need to make the doughnuts are milk, sugar, eggs, self-raising flour, soft butter and a handful of pantry spices.

Firstly, add two cups of milk, a teaspoon of salt and half a cup of softened butter into a jug, and then microwave for one minute.

Next, add half a cup of white sugar, four beaten eggs and half a teaspoon of nutmeg to the heated mixture and then whisk until combined.

Transfer the mixture to a large bowl, and add two teaspoons of dried yeast and a quarter cup of sugar before whisking again.

Rob, who is the founder of Nicko’s Kitchen which does online cookery shows, then advised adding five cups of self-raising flour, one cup at a time.

Then you need to mix the ingredients until the dough becomes thick and sticky.

Leave the dough for one hour to allow the gluten to soften and relax.

Add flour to a wooden board, before kneading the dough for two to three minutes.

Shape the dough into individual pieces using a large, round cookie cutter, and make a small hole in the middle for the “ring”.

The next step is to fry the dough in canola oil in a deep-fat fryer or a deep skillet pan for two minutes on each side.

The doughnut should be golden brown and puffy, and you can drain excess oil off on a paper towel.

For the glaze, add three cups of icing sugar into a bowl with half a cup of water and a teaspoon of vanilla essence.

Mix until smooth and then add to both sides of the ring, and then leave to set for 10 minutes.

The recipe has been a huge hit with Rob’s fans, with many saying they’ve turned out “just right”, with one claiming they are the best she’s tasted.
