Fashionistas totally divided after spotting a popular Y2K trend back in Zara – some say it's the ugliest thing ever | The Sun

A ONCE-POPULAR Y2K-inspired garment has left fashion fans totally mortified – so would YOU buy it?

Just as we thought we had recovered from noughties fashion, it looks like some of its most questionable trends are back to haunt us once again.

The last few months have seen shoppers horrified by a number of hideous looks, including low-rise denim, slouch boots, disc belts and now to top it off, ponchos.

The unfortunate discovery was spotted in Zara and it's since sparked a fierce debate on TikTok, as some insisted it was ''ugly'' – but would you sport it?

The knitted poncho, one shopper, Zaara Naaz, revealed in her video, comes in a stunning lime green colour – however, be warned, it does not have any pockets to keep your fingers toasty.

Perhaps realising style lovers would not be so keen to bag the 2000s essential, the Spanish retailer had given the poncho a new, much cooler name – a fine knit cape top.

Warning for shoppers using Vinted over ‘missing money’ – are you affected?

The knitted garment is also available in other colours, such as beige, black and grey, and it's selling for £15.99.

Although there are numerous ways to style it, Zaara had opted for a more sporty look, rocking it with black bottoms and a pair of black trainers.

All chuffed with her buy, the style lover said in the caption: 'I think it's really cool.''

But whilst she may have been obsessed with the Zara purchase, the reaction online was divided – and some even went as far as calling the fit ''ugly''.

''if it were black or grey yes but naah,'' a style fan was not entirely convinced.

''Its not giving [sic],''another thought.

''it is…like a dishrag,'' a TikTok user reckoned.

But it's not just the fashion world that's now full of old trends – make-up fans have also seen the unfortunate return of once-loved looks.

Just when you thought things couldn't possibly get any worse, influencer and model Sofia Richie Grainge recently brought back the infamous concealer lips.

Yes, the make-up trend we prayed we'd never see again.

Around 2010s, it was extremely popular – we're not entirely sure why – to ditch lipsticks and swap them with a concealer pout instead.

However, before you shout in sheer horror, there's also little thing to know – the horrific concealer lips are back here… with a little twist.

Rather than covering her lips with a pale and ghost-like concealer, the 25-year-old put a dab of the undereye essential in the middle of her lips, creating a highlighter effect.

The result, she demonstrated to her fans on TikTok, was an ombré pout, which also appeared fuller – and some even claimed it was ''chic''.

But although Sofia looked incredible and fans were sent into a frenzy, not everyone will be racing to give it a go, with one person demanding: ''Stop this madness.''
