SCRUNCHIES and top knots could be making you bald… especially if put in when your hair is wet.
A hairdresser has spilled the beans on how scrunchies and buns can be causing your healthy hair to break.
Casey Coleman revealed that tying your locks too tightly in a bun places pressure on the scalp.
Recording a consultation, the stylist explained to his client why she has a “gap” in the back of her head.
And it’s something everyone with long locks should be weary of.
Casey said: “I have finally worked out why you have a gap in the back of your hair.

“It’s from wearing it up in a bun.”
The client admitted she always wears her hair in the bun, which caused one section of hair at the back of her head to be much shorter than the rest.
Casey explained that putting it up when wet is even more dangerous to your locks.
This is because your hair is “a bit more vulnerable when wet”, according to the Welsh hairdresser.

He also advised to only tie scrunchies round twice to prevent damaging your hair.
Looping it more than twice can cause it to be too tight and pull your hair out.
Casey recommended using claw clips, plaits and “loose updos” to get your hair out of your face without risking its health.
He penned in the comments: “It can be one of the worst forms of breakage.”
The video sparked concern among viewers, with one woman saying she “quickly undid” her scrunchie after finding out the truth.
Another said: “I've started to realise I have breakage at the top due to wearing a ponytail everyday.
“So I’m trying to wear my hair down a bit more.”
Casey has a secret studio in Cardiff where he works on one client at a time.
He said: “I’m hair obsessed.
