A CORSET-obsessed mum has told how she even sleeps in a girdle in her bid to achieve the smallest waist in the world.
Sarah Vaeth, 46, currently measures a tiny 15.5in after nine years of training her body.
The mum, from Portland, Oregon, only needs to lose another half inch to equal the current Guinness World Record.
But it won’t be easy – as she’s already wearing a corset up to 20 hours a day and doesn’t want to do anything extreme.
She says: “I wear it for 16 to 20 hours out of 24.
“I sleep in it and try for at least eight hours.
“The tiny waist itself is really just an aesthetic choice.
“It’s attention grabbing, so if one is looking to attract attention it will do that.
“Most of the time I dress to conceal my silhouette.
“I only dress in a way that shows off the corseted waist when I’m either on a date with my husband, or going to a show with friends.

“I do get some stares and side eye, and some questions.”
But while not everyone wants to set a world record, Sarah insists there’s benefits to other women wearing corsets too.
She adds: “A well made corset can support good posture, alleviate back pain, and can reduce anxiety for some people who respond well to a feeling of mild compression.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve worn a corset that hurt.
“Partly that’s because I’m wearing better corsets than I used to, and partly it’s because I’ve learned that there’s no advantage to tightening a corset past the point of discomfort.”
