THIS dog owner splurged on a purebred pup in the hope of saving cash on bills – but was hit with a nasty shock.
Three years after buying a purebred beagle with five generation pedigree and no health problems, this dog's owner ended up paying £16k in vet bills.
Basil the Beagle's owner took to TikTok to share a video of the gorgeous pup – although her pet cost a fortune.
But the owner clearly loves Basil to pieces – she captioned the clip: "Don't regret it at all."
The video racked up a whopping 28,500 likes.

Viewers were quick to comment, sharing their adoration for purebred pups – despite some health problems and soaring vet costs.
One commented: "No matter, love them all unconditionally."
Another chimed in: "My dog has cost me over $20,000 so far in vet bills. Dogs definitely feel like part of the family so they deserve to be treated like it."

Not everyone was so impressed, though – some were critical of the choice to spend such huge sums on a pet.
One critic posted: "That is just unnecessary. I would just get another dog."
