I took my three-year-old son to get his nails done – some people don't agree but I love letting him express himself | The Sun

A MUM has hit back at trolls after being criticised for taking her three-year-old son to get his nails done.

Maria took to TikTok to share a video of herself taking son Rowan to their local nail salon, as she began: "Come and get our nails done with me and my nearly three year old little boy.

"Any negative comments left, politely go f**k yourself."

The clip continued to show Maria and Rowan walking to the salon in the rain, before she let him pick his own colour and he chose "orange to be a pumpkin".

"Can I just say this is the stillest he’s ever sat?!" Maria laughed as she showed Rowan patiently waiting for the nail tech to finish.

Once he was done, Rowan killed some time waiting for his mum by emptying all the sweets out of the salon's jar.

"Here’s the end result, look!" Maria said as she and Rowan showed off their new talons.

Regardless of Maria's disclaimer at the beginning of her video, she did attract some comments from trolls, with one writing: "Dad should be ashamed."

"You're right," another hit back. "Your dad should be ashamed when you sit faceless being unkind to people on the internet.

"What a sad little life."

But the majority of comments were praising Maria for letting her son express himself.

To which Maria replied: "I love him expressing himself."

"He’s a little legend there shouldn’t be any hate towards him," another added.

"I don’t get why people say getting ur nails is a girly thing," a third commented.

"Anyone can get their nails done if they want.

"Amazing mum letting him do whatever he wants."

"Exactly, how horrible would it be if he just sat there sad because I said he can’t have them because of gender," Maria replied.

"Omg i love this, my son always wants his toes done when i do mine!" another commented.
