EVERYBODY loves summer – the weather is nice, the family spends a lot more time together, and everybody seems to be in a much better mood.
However, summer can also put parents in a bind as they chase their kids to protect them from the blistering sun.
Well, comedians and relatable parenting gurus, Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, from #IMomSoHard have shared how they get their kids to stay hydrated and safe from the sun.
Speaking exclusively with The US Sun, the two talked about how they keep their kids entertained for their summer and it includes plenty of time outside.
However, aware of the potential health risks that can come with spending hours out in the sun, playing and running around, Hensley has two rules that her two kids must follow at all times – even when it's not summer.
"This makes me sound strict, but we have a very firm rule when the kids go outside," she began.
"If they go to any events, whether that's a sporting one or going out for a swim and you don't have a water bottle and sunscreen, you lose screen time."
"At this point, my daughter is nine and my son is 11 and they can figure out that they just need to rub a stick of sunscreen all over their face."
Smedley jumped in and added that their kids react better to sunscreen in stick form because it's quick, easy, and convenient, unlike the cream version.
The best friends then revealed that if they are doing summer activities together, they will put sunscreen on the other's kids.

The kids actually allow them to do so simply because they're "trying to be polite," as Hensley put it.
She explained that the reason she's adamant about making sure her kids stay hydrated and protected in the summer is that her mom was the same when she was a kid.
