A WOMAN has revealed that she has trained her hair to stay clean and only washes her locks once a month.
The mum-of-one, who has black, pink and purple hair and is known on TikTok as ‘cherries_87’, recently took to the video sharing platform, on 2nd February, to explain that it was her first time washing her hair in 2023.
She posted her clip with the caption ‘FIRST HAIR WASH OF 2023 ❤️’ and after 33 days, explained that she would finally be washing her locks.
She said: “Welcome to the first hair wash day of 2023, and yes, you are right, it is the 2nd of February and I haven’t washed my hair yet this year.
“I’ve got changed, my hair is already split into two sections, the pink and purple and the black.
“I’m going to wash both sides separately, I’m going to wash both sides twice, with shampoo and then I’m going to put conditioner in this [black] side and leave this [pink and purple] side for now.

She then applied a purple dye to her purple strands, followed by the pink to her bright pink hair.
She continued: “People ask me why I train my hair and why I only wash it once a month – basically it’s just really good for your hair and the longer you leave it, the hair oils in your hair will start to clean your hair itself.

“I’m fine, I’m not for everybody.
“I just wash my hair 12 times a year, how lush does that sound when it’s such an effort to do it.
“Push your hair day by day, if it’s greasy by day two, add some dry shampoo, slick it back and move to day three.
“Keep doing it day by day, week by week and it’ll get there eventually.”
She then showed off her finished hair and said: “Done. See you next month.”
Her video has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly racked up a whopping 636.6k views.
It has 90.2k likes, 205 comments and 207 shares.
TikTok users were open-mouthed at the woman’s confession and took to the comments to express this.
One person said: “Your 33 days is me on day 4.”
Another added: “Does it not smell tho?”
