The content creator revealed the household item she uses to stop moths from eating her garden.

In her video, TikTok user Christy Wilhelmi (@gardenerd1) shared her quick tip for "keeping your corn healthy and delicious."

"If you have corn growing in your garden, you’re going to need this," she said.

The TikToker showed her followers how to use a clothespin "to keep corn earworms out of your corn."

Christy demonstrated where to place the clothespin to prevent moths from eating corn.

"First of all, take the pin and put it on the corn ear right as it emerges when the stalks are just coming out," she said.

The influencer explained: "There’s a moth that lands on the corn ear and lays eggs on the silks and then the larvae burrow into the silks, into the corn ear and then they start eating everything."

Christy highlighted the importance of taking preventative action when it comes to corn moths.

"You don’t notice that this is happening until you open the ear when you’re ready to harvest it and it’s all half-eaten and disgusting inside," she told viewers.
