My husband died so I shacked up with his brother – trolls say I'm sick in the head but I don't care, I'm in love | The Sun

A MUM-OF-THREE has revealed that trolls call her “sick in the head” for shacking up with her dead husband’s brother.

But Kaitlin Norton couldn’t help finding comfort in her new man after tragedy struck.

Kaitlin’s husband Aaron Smith passed away in 2016 from a fatal drug overdose and months later, she began falling for his older brother, Rory.

“I was not expecting his voice to remind me of Aaron so much,” the 30-year-old recalled. “It was such a comfort.”

She decided to put a flirty foot forward on one occasion of talking and was pleasantly surprised when Rory reciprocated it.

The pair, from New Hampshire, US, have now been together for seven years, proving their doubters wrong.

They parent four children, including five-year-old Preslee and four-year-old Madilynn who they “made together”.

Kaitlin shares her son Camden, nine, with her late husband Aaron, making Rory both his uncle and stepfather.

The couple also parent twelve-year-old Rory III, who is Rory’s son from a past relationship.

Kaitlin and Aaron first met in primary school but didn’t get into a relationship until they were 18-years-old.

Their relationship was volatile due to a mutual drug addiction – something that made Rory dislike Kaitlin when she was married to his brother.

The mum-of-three’s breaking point came in 2015 when she was fed up with stealing from people she loved to fund her addiction.

She went to rehab but Aaron didn’t, and the week before her release, she received a tragic call to tell her that Aaron had passed away from an overdose at just 22-years-old.

Rory called Kaitlin once she was out of rehab, which was the catalyst in their unusual relationship.

“Rory started to come and visit me and Camden on the weekends, and that’s kind of how we started getting closer,” she told Truly.

Camden was just two-years-old when Aaron passed away and has called Rory ‘dad’ for most of his life, despite him being his uncle.

Kaitlin shares their unusual family dynamic on her social media profiles but it is not always received well.

However, the pair block out the noise and don't care about the opinions of people they don't know.
