Prince Harry flies 20,000 miles in surprise visit to Mozambique before being spotted at luxury beach lodge | The Sun

PRINCE Harry was spotted at a luxury beach lodge after flying 20,000 miles for a surprise trip to Mozambique.

The Duke of Sussex, 37, was pictured at the $270-night Vilanculos Beach Lodge this week.

He was pictured in the southern Africa country, at least 16 hours by jet from his LA home, in his capacity as president of African Parks.

The duke's spokesperson said he was welcoming and co-hosting a group of US officials, conservationists and philanthropists as they toured protected wildlife and nature areas.

Harry was seen wearing his Africa Parks cap and hanging out with Yassin Amuji, President of Tourism at Vilankulo.

One photo from his trip showed him smiling beside another man in a picture uploaded to Twitter by Eric Morier-Genoud.

It is understood Meghan, 41, and their two children did not join Harry on the solo visit.

The duke has long been a fan of the area and regularly took his Zimbabwean ex Chelsy Davy to luxury island resorts off the coast at Vilanculos.

He was often photographed with his old flame at Bazaruto island and Mozambique was known to be a favourite haunt of the couple.

A source said: “I wouldn’t have thought Meghan would have been happy about the connection.

"But at least Harry knows the area and people.”

It comes just a month before Harry is due to clock up even more air miles when he and Meg jet from LA to engagements in Manchester, Germany and London.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's trip will support "several charities close to their hearts", the couple's spokesperson said this week.

They will first travel to Manchester for the One Young World Summit on September 5.

The couple will then head to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event, before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards on September 8.

Vilanculos Beach Lodge is one of the top hotels in Vilankulo, a small coastal town of 25,000 people.
