DESPITE announcing their engagement in September, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are yet to announce details about their wedding.
But now, one royal insider has claimed the pair have set a date for early June after receiving the royal seal of approval from the Queen.
There's one stipulation though – it "mustn't interrupt Ascot" – which begins on June 16.
According to a royal source speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the couple will announce the date in the new year.
"Bea and Edo will finally announce their wedding date in the second week of January. The date has been described as 'early summer', just before the summer social season kicks off," they said.
Over the last few weeks, reports have indicated that the scandal surrounding Prince Andrew has been "overshadowing" Bea's wedding plans.
The insider also indicated that the backlash may have affected where the princess ties the knot, with sources claiming The Guards' Chapel, St James' Park – which was thought to be a consideration – is now off the cards.
With Prince Andrew's position of honorary Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, the site was thought to be the perfect choice, but it now seems unlikely.
"Poor Beatrice – this wedding seems impossible to cement. At least she’s got a date at last, and has found a window to announce it, once the opening of Parliament, Christmas and New Year are over," the insider said.
Last week, it was reported that Bea had cancelled her engagement party in London over the backlash surrounding her dad.
It was reported that the 31-year-old and Edo, 36, had sent out invites for a bash held at Chiltern Firehouse on December 18.
It's now believed the party is off, after it was thought to be "far too high-profile given the sensitive time [the] family is going through".
It comes after friends of the couple are said to have expressed their concern for Beatrice, with the scandal "overshadowing" what is supposed to be a very happy time.
A source told ET that "the family is very disappointed" adding that Prince Andrew has "embarrassed" them.
"Everyone right now is concerned about Bea. Poor Bea. She deserves to have the wedding she wants and the public is going to go nuts [because of her father]," they said.
This comes as a second Epstein victim has come forward to claim she had sex with Prince Andrew.
Buckingham Palace said they would not be commenting on the latest claims but Andrew repeatedly denied the claims of Virginia Roberts, who said she was ordered to have sex with Andrew when she was 17.
