Queen Elizabeth health news – Her Majesty may be forced to MISS Prince Philip memorial & will have to decide last minute

THE QUEEN might be forced to miss Prince Phillip's memorial service next week and the Monarch will decide last minute.

Palace aides are working on plans which may include a helicopter, privacy screens to get the 95-year-old into Westminster Abbey.

It has also been claimed that a wheelchair may be used, however these claims have not been substantiated by Buckingham Palace.

Her Majesty missed the Commonwealth Day ceremony last week due to concerns about her “comfort”.

The Queen was pictured using a walking stick at Windsor Castle, Berks, on Wednesday while viewing enamelware by Halcyon Days.

Prince Philip’s funeral was scaled down last April due to Covid rules.

Prince William missed an opportunity to ‘shape history’

Prince William delivered a speech in Jamaica during a state dinner, slamming slavery as “abhorrent”.

However the Duke stopped short of making an apology for the role the monarchy played in sanctioning the horrific trade.

It was a move many activists were hoping to see, and former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt claims William had “ducked” an opportunity to “shape history”.

However, royal expert Richard Eden tweeted: “I disagree with the #BBC’s former #royal correspondent. Prince William’s comments struck the right tone.

“Apologising for something his ancestors did hundreds of years ago would have been worthless and put him on the level of a shallow politician.”

Meghan Markle's close friend Omid Scobie has tried to blame diversity in the Palace for pictures of the Cambridges greeting Jamaican fans in front of a fence.

Meghan's close friend took to Twitter to express his anger at the Cambridges' staff, saying: "I do wonder what the hell palace organisers were thinking with some of yesterday's photo moments.

"The planning and recon that goes into every step of these engagements is next level, so how did no one think to avoid certain imagery?"

The author, who co-wrote Finding Freedom, added on Twitter: "This is why diversity on a team matters."

Prince William addresses ‘abhorrent’ slave trade

PRINCE William told of his "profound sorrow" regarding the "abhorrent" issue of slavery during a landmark speech in Jamaica.

The Duke of Cambridge, 39, addressed politicians amid the continuing unrest across the nation in wake of demands for the Royal Family to apologise and pay billions of pounds in reparations.

He told guests at the black-tie banquet "it should never have happened" before reiterating the words of his father Prince Charles.

The Duke echoed the Prince of Wales' words during his speech, who branded the slave trade a "stain on our history" four months ago when Caribbean neighbours Barbados declared itself a republic.

William also hailed the "spirit" of the Windrush Generation who came from Jamaica and settled in Britain post-war.

William said last night: "Anniversaries are also a moment for reflection, particularly this week with the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

"I strongly agree with my father, The Prince of Wales, who said in Barbados last year that the appalling atrocity of slavery forever stains our history.

"I want to express my profound sorrow. Slavery was abhorrent. And it should never have happened.

"While the pain runs deep, Jamaica continues to forge its future with determination, courage and fortitude," he continued.

Military style operation launches to get Queen to Philip memorial service

SENIOR Buckingham Palace aides have launched a major military- style planning operation aimed at getting the Queen to Prince Philip’s memorial service using a helicopter and privacy screens.

The frail 95-year-old monarch pulled out of the Commonwealth Day service last week amid fears for her “comfort” on the 60-mile round trip and having to sit in Westminster Abbey for more than an hour.

She was forced to watch the event on the telly at Windsor Castle.

But she is determined to attend for the Duke of Edinburgh’s thanksgiving on Tuesday week ? he died last April at the age of 99 ? and officials are exploring an incredible range of options to get her to the Abbey.

The Sun on Sunday understands senior staff will arrange to fly Her Majesty by helicopter on a 15-minute trip from Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace.

Although the Queen was seen on her feet at face-to-face engagements at Windsor last week, her aides are not happy with her walking around 100 yards from the Abbey entrance through the nave and choir to get to her seat. Instead, they want to drive her the short distance from the Palace and seal off the entire Dean’s Yard to the west of the Abbey so they can park in private outside a side door.

Six-foot privacy screens or even a football-style tunnel could be erected to prevent photographers from capturing her as she leaves the car.

Queen 'terrified of looking like dying sister'

THE QUEEN'S recent low profile is due to her being haunted by photos of her sister before she died, it has been claimed.

As she approaches her 96th birthday, Her Majesty is eager not to been seen in public looking frail or ill so has dramatically cut down the number of public appearances she makes, according to the Mirror.

One aspect she's said to be particularly keen to avoid is being photographed sitting in a wheelchair as her sister Princess Margaret was in the months before she died.

Princess Margaret was seen in public in a wheelchair six months before passed away.

A palace source said: "It's a haunting image and not one the Queen remembers fondly".

    Shock return to EastEnders

EASTENDERS’ Bernie Taylor makes a SHOCK return to the soap as she goes into labour.

Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) makes her long-awaited return in EastEnders later this month, as she was last seen in October 2021.

In scenes to air, the heavily pregnant character faces the reality of handing over her baby to Stuart (Ricky Champ) and Rainie Highway (Tanya Franks) after agreeing to a surrogacy deal with the couple.

Speaking about the characters return, Clair Norris said: “I think that Bernie is overwhelmed with everything and definitely needs some time away to clear her head. She needs a break.

“I think it will do her good to get away and take care of herself and the baby for a bit. That’s her number one priority.

“We know Bernie will be returning to Walford, but who knows what she will be coming back to? She knows how much this is going to hurt Stuart and Rainie, but Bernie is determined to put the baby first.”

Queen urged to axe Prince Harry from family

The Queen has been urged to strip Prince Harry and Prince Andrew of a royal role they both still hold.

The Duke’s both still hold a position as one of the four individuals on the Queen’s Counsellors of State.

At this present time, the positions are held by Prince Andrew, Prince Charles and his sons William and Harry.

However, Former BBC correspondent and presenter Peter Hunt has urged the Queen to re-think who is to take the roles.

Mr Hunt wrote on Twitter: “Both Charles and William are abroad. If the Queen becomes ill, either Charles flies home or Andrew steps in – an unthinkable move for many.

“This is the reality of having no fool-proof plan to cover all scenarios for when a 95-year-old head of state can’t carry out her duties.”

The Daily Mail’s diarist and staunch critic of The Sussexes, Richard Eden, retweeted this and then wrote: “This is why #PrinceAndrew and #PrinceHarry must be stripped of their roles as Counsellors of State immediately. #royal”.

William and Kate attend commissioning parade for cadets in Jamaica

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have attended the inaugural commissioning parade for dozens of Caribbean officer cadets as their tour of Jamaica drew to a close.

On a windswept parade ground, William took the salute of the young men and women who will in future years lead troops in their homelands.

The ceremonial events followed the duke's denouncement of slavery as "abhorrent" during a speech on Wednesday evening when he said "it should never have happened".

His comments followed days of protests during the couple's tour of the Caribbean, with campaigners in Jamaica calling for reparations for slavery from the royal family.

William also expressed his "profound sorrow" at the forced transportation of millions of people from Africa to the Caribbean and North America – a trade which British monarchs either supported or profited from during the 17th and 18th centuries.

He also echoed the words of his father the Prince of Wales and described the slave trade as an "appalling atrocity" that "stains our history" and he went on to acknowledge Jamaica's "pain".

During the military event in Kingston, the duchess wore a striking hat with her dress and watched from the stands as the duke, wearing the tropical no 1 uniform of the Blues and Royals – a white jacket with his military cap and trousers – inspected the new officers.

Meghan's series focusing on women is called 'Archetypes'

In a trailer for Meghan's series, which was released today, the mum-of-two said: "This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us… but where do these stereotypes come from?

"And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?"

The duchess, previewing the type of guests who will feature, adds: "This is Archetypes – the podcast where we dissect, explore, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back.

"I'll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives.

"And I'll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place."

Harry & Meghan have only delivered 35mins of Spotify content so far

Harry and Meghan's only podcast effort so far has been a 35-minute 'holiday special' in December 2020, featuring celebrity pals Elton John and James Corden.

It means that, so far, they've been paid £500,000 for each minute of content.

Matters looked as if they could be derailed again two months ago, when the pair came under pressure to ditch their mega-deal after Spotify was accused of hosting anti-jab content by US host Joe Rogan.

But they decided to stick with the company instead, telling fans they were committed "to ensure changes to its platform are made to help address this public health crisis".

The move attracted criticism, with TV firebrand Piers Morgan blasting: "So a proven liar is now satisfied nobody else is lying? Beyond parody."

Meghan Markle to release solo podcast this summer

MEGHAN Markle's first solo podcast will be released this summer, it has been announced – a year-and-a-half after she and Harry signed an £18million deal with Spotify.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed today she'll be looking into labels and stereotypes "that try to hold women back" for the series.

She'll host the show, Archetypes, and interview experts and historians during episodes.

The Sussexes were given a bumper pay-out by the streaming giant back in late 2020.

But in January 2022, The Sun revealed Spotify was taking the project "into its own hands" as content from the couple failed to materialise.

Initially, a "full-scale" launch of shows was promised in 2021. However, the year came and went without any further update.

    Piers Morgan blasts Prince Harry

PIERS Morgan has once again blasted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, following a report about one of his other court cases.

It has been claimed that The Duke of Sussex suffered “substantial hurt, embarrassment and distress” after a Mail on Sunday report about one of his other court cases inspired a “feeding frenzy of hostile comments” online.

Following this, the ex-GMB presenter Piers Morgan took to Twitter to blast the Duke.

He wrote: Is the little twerp ever not hurt and distressed? Imagine bleating like this when there’s a war raging?”
