Kate Middleton was dressed to perfection in a mint-green jacket as she marked her first outing of this year’s Wimbledon tournament, leaving fans with one question about her look.
The Princess of Wales proved she can master the Wimbledon look in a Balmain blazer reminiscent of Princess Diana’s at the 1988 Trooping Of The Colours.
The 1980s silhouette, created by the blazer’s dramatic shoulder padding, was a look Princess Kate’s late mother-in-law frequently styled with floaty skirts.
Typically stylish Kate also completed the look with a white pleated midi skirt, in a subtle nod to the uniform of female tennis players on the court.
While royal fans were widely approving of the look, some raised a question about a subtle detail on the her jacket, which was concealed by Kate’s brunette locks throughout most of the outing.
They wrote: “I love her suit. The jacket in soft lime is so cool. I don’t understand the purple bow tie on the left side of the jacket. Does it have significance?
Another responded: “The colors of Wimbledon are green and purple, so maybe it just completes the colors for the event. I wonder if the colors represent different elements of the Wimbledon club.”
Other fans gushed over Kate’s look, with one writing: “Hail the Green Goddess! HRH Princess Catherine of Wales! Absolutely stunning!
Another added: “Minty green & white. Only Catherine could carry it off so gracefully.”
“Beautiful, polished, impeccable from head to toe. Reflecting her love and support for the game with that green and white outfit with the big round buttons,” wrote one fan.
The blazer’s white lapel and button were cleverly accessorised with a white Mulberry bag and matching white Gianvito Rossi pumps.
The look is already a strong contender for Kate’s most iconic Wimbledon outfits, having showcased a slew of incredible dresses at previous tournaments.
The Princess of Wales made a big impression on fans during the nine-day tournament 2022 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Among her most iconic looks was the Roksanda Ilinčić yellow dress she wore during a presentation for the Ladies’ Singles Final match.
The royal also made several appearances in her all-time favourite label Alessandra Rich, whose designs she frequently wears at royal appointments.
Kate typically attends the tennis tournament on several days and is expected to continue the tradition this year.
