Stacey Solomon makes amazing bathroom shelf out of household 'junk' she found

STACEY Solomon has been keeping busy during lockdown crafting thrifty home-made items and impressive fruit animals for her son Rex.

But it seems the Loose Women panellist has taken her craftsmanship to the next level and showed her 3.2 million followers how to make a handy bathroom shelf made entirely from 'junk' she had laying around.

In a bid to find a storage solution for "bathroom bits", the mum of one decided to make a hanging shelf with little more than empty spice jars, some brown string and an old piece of wood.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Stacey, 30, wrote: "Ok so I need to make something for my bathroom bits because atm they're just on top of the toilet. So I'm making a shelf," before revealing a quick and easy how-to.

She filmed herself threading a piece of brown string through holes on either end of scrap wood so that it could be hung from the wall.

She then mapped out eight small hooks across the length of the wood, before screwing each one in by hand.

To hang the shelf on the wall she used a Command stick on hook before attaching the hand-made shelf.

On top of the shelf the TV star placed two bottles of bath salts – labelled moon dust and black sea  – which sat between the empty spice jars stuffed with brightly coloured paper for decoration.

From the hooks, Stacey hung small woven toiletry bags that previously had no home,  but now formed part of a crafty hanging wall feature.

Proud of her efforts, Stacey shared the end results which was both extremely practical and aesthetically pleasing.

She wrote: "I'm actually so proud I could cry, literally made out of junk."

And we must say, we're mighty impressed also

Upon revealing her new hanging shelf, it seems many were interested to find out what the hanging bags contained – and so were we.

Stacey revealed she'd filled them with oats, friend fruits, extra petals and spoons to use in her bath when she wanted to be "posh"

And we're all for it.

Recently, Stacey Solomon makes the most of her time at home by upcycling an old colander into a beautiful hanging plant pot.

And, she also transformed empty candles into DIY bird bath and feeder by gluing the glass jars to a timber chopping board.

Meanwhile, Stacey hits back at trolls who lecture her about Rex playing in the hot sunshine.
