ACHIEVING that salon-fresh hair look at home isn't always easy, and even celebs like Molly Mae and Stacey Solomon don't always go to the hairdressers to maintain their mane.

That's because they have a few tricks up their sleeves to keep their their locks perfectly glossy in between appointments.


So, here are five cheap and cheerful tricks your favourite glossy-haired girls swear by.

Use a moisturising hair mask

Molly Mae revealed she used a hair mask to get her hair back to normal after her pregnancy with Bambi back in January.

Ina clip she shared on YouTube the mum explained that she relies on beauty's cult Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Intensive Treatment, £28, to keep her locks looking shiny and healthy.

"I have actually had my extensions taken out now so I have a full head of natural hair," she said in the clip

Cut down on shampooing

Washing your hair can leave it look fresh and shiny, but washing it too often might actually have to opposite effect.

That's why Stacey Solomon revealed she only washes her tresses one per week, and she reckons it's loads healthier because of it.

"I have absolutely nowhere to go but I'm swooshing myself around the house like Mariah Carey," She said on Instagram after giving it a clean.

"It was such a big occasion of course I filmed it," she joked.

According to hair pros at Healthline, reducing how often you wash your locks can prevent breakage and split ends.

They explained: "Washing hair once a week, or even every other week, can help prevent the hair from drying out while also removing any build-up of hair products.

Chemically treated hair and hair of older people may be drier, so not washing it for a week can help prevent it from drying out."

Condition overnight

If you don't have time during the day to do a hair mask, take a page out of Holly Willoughby's book and make your on spray to leave in over night.

Her hairstylist, Ciler Peksah, shared a simple mix you can make to keep your tresses hydrated with basically no effort.

He explained on Instagram: “Using an empty spray bottle, mix half of your favourite conditioner or hair mask with 10 pumps of hair oil (not serum) and top up with enough water to activate the spray."

"Shake well to mix and use overnight or throughout the day for a hair miracle."

The trick seems to work wonder's for Holly's famous blonde bob, so it must be worth a go.

Don't break the bank

Spending on a fortune on hair products might seem like a good idea, but it's not necessary to achieve luscious locks.

In fact, Amanda Holden revealed she wears by an £8 conditioner to keep her tresses looking thick and healthy.

Have a break between styling

"Because my hair gets styled so much and fried the life out of most of the time on set, I do little home remedies, Maya Jama told Vogue recently.
