Weekly horoscope for January 5 – 11 – your week ahead according to Kerry King and her tarot cards

EVERY Sunday, our resident Tarotscope reader Kerry King will be revealing what surprises, challenges and excitement awaits you in the week ahead.

Kerry has been practising tarot readings for the last 20 years, starting from reading for friends to amassing an international client list.

Using her strong intuition and deep knowledge and understanding of the horoscope, she is able to provide accurate and encouraging predictions for the coming days.

Here's her predictions for YOUR star sign…

ARIES (Eight of Swords, Knight of Cups, Knight of Wands)

You’ve got an opportunity this week to release yourself from a repetitive bad habit or negative self-belief, as shown by the imprisoning Eight of Swords.

Break free, Aries! Change the game, follow new rulebook, switch the play.
Doing different will GET different results.

The Knights of Cups and Wands ride into your life to help you.

Knights are often “extreme” aspects of our personality, and you perhaps need to lean on your true Aries-iness to change this pattern.

By that I mean your competitiveness, your passion, your truthfulness and your commitment to self-improvement.

Push yourself here. Set a challenge and go all in, 100%, to make it happen.

Be honest with yourself about where the pitfalls are, and congratulate yourself when you get through this next seven days and can see the difference already.

Because you WILL.

TAURUS (Five of Wands, Page of Coins, Four of Wands)

You’ve been experiencing “growing pains” in an area of your life, as shown by the pesky and irritating Five of Wands.

It feels difficult, and that is because you don’t really belong in this space any
more.

You need to find a new landscape, broaden your horizons.

The pathway might be found via education, as shown by the earnest Page of Coins.

If it’s your job you need to change, then look to formal training and learning as a means of finding a new path.

If it’s your financial or home situation, do some research and seek professional advice.

If it’s your health or fitness, read up on what might work best for you, source some new ideas.

Mug up on your specific field!

The Four of Wands shows this endeavour will be very successful and, in just a month’s time, will help you find that new landscape.

New space = new opportunity, and you’re more than ready!

GEMINI (Nine of Wands, King of Coins, The Emperor)

New Year = new attitude. And it’s all directed towards an area of life that you Gemmys typically find, well, a bit tricky: MONEY.

The King of Coins wants to lend you his practical shrewdness and experience when it comes to getting on top of your finances, making a little go a long way, and marshalling your resources like a boss.

The Emperor is urging you to take control here, and get the upper hand over your finances (rather than drowning in uncertainty and ignorance).

A little bit ofknowledge and awareness can go a long way here.

Go seek advice. Go do some research.

Go talk to your friends who LOVE this kind of stuff (these people DO exist, they’re usually Earth signs).

The Nine of Wands shows that, by the end of February, you can have your material world totally ship-shape and ready for inspection.

And it won’t be half as boring / onerous / troublesome as you currently think.

Go sort this out.

CANCER (The Chariot, The Lovers, Knight of Swords)

You’re in an unusually forthright, ambitious and direct kind of a mood this New Year, Cancer, and I like to see it!

You’re determined to be the “doer” vs the “done to” in 2020, and The Chariot and Knight of Swords sees you starting out as you mean to go on.

I suspect you’re taking control, seeking truths, making plans, looking at what needs to make a sharp exit from your life.

It feels good to be the boss, doesn’t it?

The Lovers shows the task ahead this week is to figure out how you really feel about stuff which has always confused you, or been a source of conflict.

Head vs heart decisions. On / off relationships.

Half-hearted ambitions. What to do about them? Switch them ON, or pull the plug and move on to something more inspiring?

Only you can decide that. And this is THE week to do it.

LEO (Eight of Cups, Ten of Swords, Two of Coins)

There’s no escaping the reality of endings, closure and losses happening in our lives, and the double whammy of the Eight of Cups and Ten of Swords reveal you’re about to face into such an event.

You may feel disappointed that this didn’t work out as you had hoped, but deep down you have felt this coming for a long time.

It has gotten harder and more difficult to “pretend” all is well.

You know it is not.

What I can promise you is that you have an abundant life full of other opportunities, roles and people who can help you through this.

Don’t stare at the “box” which is missing, look at your broader life’s “boxes”, all those other compartments you can now invest a bit more time and energy in.

Turn your gaze to what you HAVE, vs what you lack.

You have plenty of joy, opportunity and advantages to revel in, and soon enough something new will flow in to replace whatever is leaving.

You will be fine. Honestly. You’re a Leo.

VIRGO (Temperance, Justice, Ten of Cups)

A lingering issue in an important (possibly romantic) relationship gets resolved once and for all this week- thank goodness!

The Ten of Cups shows “normal service” will be resumed and you two can return to the positive and supportive relationship / friendship / partnership you have come to rely upon.

Justice reveals that something you felt was unfair or unkind will be rectified, and you will be vindicated.

Marvellous! You like being proven right (Virgo, it’s possibly your favourite thing).

Now then, don’t rub their nose in it! Be gracious in your victory.

Temperance shows you need to literally “temper” your urges to say ‘I told you so’ or to crow about your cleverness.

Let things return to a “new normal”, let the balance and harmony flow back in, without any interference or interruption from your victory dancing!

LIBRA (Ten of Coins, Eight of Coins, Seven of Swords)

There’s an air of protection and defensiveness around you this week, Libra, and I am not doubting it’s for a good reason.

The Seven of Swords is a hint that you ought to have your guard up a little higher, even if only to shield you from others’ opinions and judgements (no matter whether they’re well-meaning, or not).

We all need privacy and space to make our own plans, and the Eight and Ten of Coins reveal you’re in a planning kind of mode.

You’re looking at your finances, resources, assets and career path and you’re weighing up what else you might need to do or add in order to build the security and comfort you want in your life (you’re ruled by Venus, the goddess of luxury and indulgence, so you have high standards my friend!).

Maybe it’s time to add a new string to your bow.

Maybe you should seek promotion in 2020. Maybe you can start a lucrative side line venture to earn more money.

Consider, reflect and then make some tangible plans for this winter and spring. You can go further than you think.

SCORPIO (Six of Wands, Seven of Coins, Nine of Cups)

Something positive and magical will happen this week that makes you re-evaluate everything!

The Six of Wands shows you enjoying success and fulfilment and it rather makes you want to seek more of it.

This event whets your appetite, and you decide to pause a while and reflect on your trajectory.

The Seven of Coins is a cross roads kind of card, popping up when we are about to take a left-field turn- sabbaticals, retraining, travelling, new career paths etc.

So, anything is possible from here, Scorpio.

The Nine of Cups is a wonderful omen of good fortune, and says that the higher you aim here, the better the outcome.

It’s a wish-come-true card, and blesses whatever your ambitions are with luck and opportunity.

Truly, this is a potentially life-changing window of opportunity.

Don’t close it too soon.

Sit and think what you’d LOVE to be doing in your life… it’s possible!

SAGITTARIUS (The Chariot, Strength, Knight of Coins)

A different side of you emerges as the year turns over, and it’s a tougher, more self-protective and serious part of your character that perhaps has lain dormant up till now.

The Knight of Coins means business.

He takes no prisoners. He puts his agenda first.

You’re realising that if you don’t… who will?

The Chariot sees you taking up the reins and charting a new course in your life, one in which you are front and centre and at the helm.

It’s not about being selfish. It’s about knowing your worth, understanding your ambitions and how you play a part in making them a reality.

Strength shows this is a whole new life course, a whole new way of being.

And rather than feeling tired or depressed by the inevitable challenges you’ll face along the way, you see it all as strengthening, as building your resilience and life experience.

You are changing. For the better.

CAPRICORN (The Hermit, Page of Wands, The Star)

You’re back in the “Capricorn Laboratory”, cooking up something special, and no one is allowed in!

Business as usual then, lol. The Hermit is you right now.

The doors are closed, the sign says ‘Private, Keep Out!’- you want your space, you want to be left alone to get on with what you’re scheming over.

The Star shows it’s about a big ambition, a new dream, a high hope.

Good for you. Capricorns can achieve anything they focus their powerful determination and capability on.

The Page of Wands shows you’ll need to be nimble, flexible and experimental here.

There’s no easy formula for success, it takes trial and error, it takes practice and, importantly, it takes failure.

We only learn from our mistakes (never our successes), so get ready to make lots of them and, guess what, LOVE your cock ups!

They are worth their weight in gold.

For now though, have fun scheming… it’s what you love most!

AQUARIUS (Ten of Swords, Nine of Cups, Knight of Wands)

Someone is pushing you to end something in your life, which you know, deep down, you’ve held on to for a bit too long.

The Ten of Swords shows this closure is inevitable, and necessary even.

We can’t move on without leaving some things behind, change is unavoidable.

But I know that you want to be in control here, and not feel pressured. I get it.

The Nine of Cups shows this person, the Knight of Wands, only has your best interests at heart.

They want what they can see is right for you, and, honestly, you probably don’t disagree with them.

It’s just that you don’t like being pushed. The timing is on your terms.

There’s enough love to be open and forthright about how you feel, and that you just need to process this in your own time, in your own way.

Ask for that freedom, promise them you are aware of their feelings and you understand.

The nudge is well-meaning (and right), but you need to work through this alone.

PISCES (Four of Coins, Two of Cups, Two of Coins)

You’re kind and well-meaning and you invest a lot of your time and energy in your relationships, actually maybe TOO much sometimes.

The Four of Coins hints that one bond in particular has tightened so much recently that it threatens to cut you off from other people and things in your life.

The Two of Cups reassures you that this relationship IS one you should keep, and that things are all good, it’s just that the balance and focus has gotten out of kilter.

Get some breathing space. The Two of Coins asks you to spread your energy round a bit more this week.

Pick up with old friends, call in on family, go out with colleagues, reconnect with people you missed over Christmas.

Living in each other’s pockets will only make you snappy with each other in the end, so have a little break and then come back feeling all the more energised and full of things to talk about.
