THERE are few things more annoying than using all of your strength to try and get a jar lid off, only for it to stay resolutely stuck to the jar.
But one woman has come up with an amazing hack to help – and it takes just seconds.
Sammy took to TikTok to share a video of herself demonstrating the hack, explaining: "If you can't get into a jar, take a knife."
She then uses the end of a sharp knife to pierce the lid of the jar, at which point the air can be heard escaping.
"Can you hear that? That is the air squeezing out of it," she added.
Once the air had escaped, Sammy was able to remove the lid easily and with little to no force.
"Just in case you didn’t know it’s pressurised so once the pressure has gone it will open easier," she captioned the video.
"Nooooo way!!!!! This is amazing, thank you!!!" someone commented on the video.

Others used the opportunity to share their own hacks for getting off stubborn jar lids.
"Or put it upside down in hot water for 1 min use a cloth to open as it will be hot, it works," another person added.
"That is a good idea," Sammy replied to that remark.
"Easiest way is to turn jar on its side and tap around the top on the counter top, it works every time, try it," someone else wrote.
