DRIED on food is a nightmare to get off – and often takes scrubbing and a whole lot of elbow grease to remove.
But one cooking fan has come up with an ingenious way to quickly and easily clean the dishes – and, as an added bonus, it involves recycling as well.
The TikTok account AllRecipes took to the video-sharing site to post the hack, which involves using the net bags that lots of vegetables come in as a sponge.
"Don’t throw out these bags, we’re gonna use them to scrub our dishes," the woman in the video stated, before showing just how effectively the makeshift cleaning product works.
Using it on a large roasting dish that appeared to have some kind of tomato-based sauce on it, the blue net bag worked a treat at removing the residue.
"Look at that! That’s better than steel wool," she said as she showed off the sparklingly clean dish.
"Seriously! I never thought of that!" someone wrote, while another added: "Great idea!"
Someone else revealed that a late relative went took the hack to another level by using the inside each other to make a ball "sponge".
"My husband’s grandmother would put them inside each other and tie them in the middle and roll the into a ball," they wrote. "Those were the best Christmas present."
The woman in the video also revealed in a comment on the video that the vegetable bag cleaners work a treat on dirty countertops as well.
Another person said that they'd been a fan of the hack for years, writing: "Been doing this for years, I thought everyone did!"
