Best fast food burger has been crowned

Head writer and show-runner for The Simpsons, Bill Oakley proposed the vote on his Instagram account. The writer, who describes himself as a “professional food enthusiast” urged followers to vote on the best patties, because he wanted to discover which chain customers considered to have the best quality meat.

Shake Shack ended up with the top spot. But, other chains swept up a large number of votes. They included Five Guys, In-N-Out, Burger King – currently facing a lawsuit over claims the Whopper is too small – and McDonald’s Quarter Pounder.

Best burgers ranked

  1. Shake Shake
  2. Culver’s
  3. Wendy’s
  4. In-N-Out
  5. Smashburger McDonald’s Quarter Pounder
  6. Burger King

Oakley’s followers chimed in with their thoughts on the results. One wrote: “Wendy’s doesn’t get enough credit. Happy to see it at number 4. Solid fries too btw!!!”

“No Dairy Queen? Better than 7 & 8, even 4,” another said.

One wrote: “Five Guys doesn’t season their beef. No salt. Nonsense.

One said: “Culver’s was my first job in high school, and I’d happily eat there still–great quality stuff behind the scenes.”
