People are making cereal out of tiny chocolate chip cookies

A few weeks ago, TikTok was flooded with people making pancake cereal and we thought it couldn’t get any better.

But please welcome a new contender for best breakfast ever – homemade chocolate chip cookie cereal.

Yes, the latest trend is to bake tiny little cookies at home and then put them in a bowl with milk.

Obviously it’s not the healthiest option but it does sound like an amazing treat.

It might remind you of Cookie Crisp, the classic cereal you can buy in supermarkets but this way, you have more control over the taste and texture of your cookies.

Sydney Melhoff created the pancake cereal trend and then decided to branch into cookies.

Cookie cereal ? Best thing I’ve ever had! #foodie #cookie #cereal #snackbreak #bakingrecipe #easyrecipe #dessert #cookingtips #kitchen #minifood

She used some shop-bought cookie dough and rolled out tiny balls onto a baking tray.

Next, she baked them for about five to seven minutes. It’s important to make sure the cookies are the same size as they can burn quickly.

After letting them cool a little as they’re soft when they come out of the oven, she scooped them into a bowl with some milk.

Sydney described it as ‘the best thing I’ve ever had!’

Justin Schuble, aka @dcfoodporn, posted about the trend across social media and it soon went viral.

So apparently #cookiecereal went crazy viral after my post the other day! I decided to remake it so that I could give you some tips on how to perfect it. Here’s how to do it: 1. Cut your cookie dough into even pieces. You want to make sure they bake evenly or else some will burn and others will be undercooked. Instead of rolling them into balls, just round the edges. And add an extra chocolate chip on top for a prettier final product. 2. Bake at 350F for about 7 minutes (cookies will still be a little soft). Let them sit on the counter and harden for a few minutes. 3. Add a few spoonfuls of your mini cookies to a bowl and enjoy with milk. To avoid getting all the cookies soggy at once, only add a few bites to your bowl at a time. 4. Try it with ice cream as a dessert! 5. Get creative! You can make any type of cookie into cookie cereal. Doesn’t have to be chocolate chip!! #foodandwine #insider #insiderfood #foodbeast #foodtrends #pancakecereal #cookiecrisp #cerealtrend #cookies #chocolatechipcookies #mini #minifood #beautifulcuisines #foodnetwork #cosmopolitan #peoplefood #todayshow
