This year has been full of unexpected things but besides, ya know, the obvious, the new trend of strange wine flavors is pretty high on the list. People went crazy for margarita- and piña colada-flavored wine, so it seems that there is no flavor off limits for the alcohol. Case in point? Taco Bell’s new jalapeño noir wine will pair perfectly with your next drive-thru order.
Honestly, crazier things have happened in 2020, so jalapeño wine isn’t all that surprising. The limited-edition beverage will be available exclusively in Canada for Taco Bell fans. Those in the area will be able to order it online via www.tacobell.ca and select Taco Bell locations in Toronto and Hamilton will have the wine available for delivery through Uber Eats.
The wine goes live on September 16 and has notes of wild strawberry, cherry, and beetroot, according to a Taco Bell spokesperson. Although this speciality drink would pair with just about anything from the Taco Bell menu, the brand suggests drinking it with the Toasted Cheesy Chalupa, which features six-month-aged sharp cheddar cheese toasted onto the iconic chalupa shell and is then filled with seasoned beef and whatever toppings the customer chooses.
Although the jalapeño noir will only be available in Canada as of now, the Toasted Cheesy Chalupa will be back at Taco Bell locations in November so there’s at least that to look forward to. In the meantime…I’ll be figuring out how to make jalapeño-infused wine. Don’t mind me!
