Tesco has partnered with SimplyCook to launch an in-store meal kits offer for its customers. The supermarket will bring the kits to 1,300 Tesco Express stores across the UK from today.
SimplyCook is a subscription-based recipe box service located in London, delivering boxes full of ingredients to subscribers all over the UK.
The company usually provides a monthly box containing four recipes and four non-perishable ingredient kits.
But now, Tesco customers can get their hands on some of the meal kits for only £6 – and that’s between two people.
From today, 1,300 Tesco Express stores will feature a ‘Let’s Cook’ one-stop bay, inviting shoppers to create their own meal kit, according to The Grocer.
Customers will be able to choose four different items to be make up their meal kit.
These include a protein option, a choice of vegetables, and rice, as well as a SimplyCook recipe kit.
There are four different recipe kits that customers can choose from, which are the Japanese Miso Rice Bowl, Indochinese Stir Fry, Korean Fried Rice, and Caribbean Jerk BBQ.
Each kit contains, herbs, spices, and stock to be added to your key ingredients.

The launch of SimplyCook’s meal kits in Tesco stores marks the brand’s expansion beyond ambient food.
SimplyCook said that this way it provides shoppers with “the restaurant-inspired meals they are missing in lockdown, using fresh and healthy ingredients”.
The company’s co-founder and Managing Director, Sam Tierney, said: “The ‘Let’s Cook’ proposition is a game-changing new play on in-store meal kits, and we have an aligned mission to bring new meal solutions to store.”
Farzana Miah, Brand Manager at Tesco, also commented, saying: “Tesco is really excited about the launch of the SimplyCook recipe kits within the ‘Let’s Cook’ proposition, helping our shoppers find and cook easy yet new and exciting recipes from scratch in just 20 minutes.”
In other Tesco deals news, the supermarket has launched a new promotion that will see some customers receiving free tech goodies, including iPhones, AirPods and Galaxy gadgets.
The retailer introduced the new ‘Super Subs’ deal today, which will swap items inside some customers’ online baskets for tech products.
These products may include the latest iPhone 12 mini, popular AirPods wireless earbuds, or Samsung’s new Galaxy S21 smartphone.
The offer is in partnership with Tesco Mobile and is available when shoppers use the brand’s click and collect service from participating stores.
Tesco said: “From today until 18 April, Tesco Mobile is raiding the nation’s shopping bags to make unbelievable substitutes in lucky Tesco.com Click+Collect orders.
“Tesco Mobile’s ‘Super Subs’ has been created to show how amazing things can happen when the worlds of supermarket and mobile come together – all while putting a smile on shopper’s faces,” the supermarket added.
Only some Tesco stores are participating in the promotion, and these include Glasgow Silverburn Tesco Extra in Glasgow, Twickenham Tesco Extra in Greater London, Stretford Tesco Extra in Manchester, Swansea Cadle Tesco Extra in Swansea, Portsmouth Tesco Extra in Portsmouth, and Dudley Tesco Extra in Birmingham.
