Impress your friends with three different variations of your own homemade hummus. Whip up creamy green avocado, electric pink beet, or go for a more traditional take on the classic dip.
Classic Hummus
Ingredients:
- 4 cloves peeled garlic
- 4 cups canned chickpeas, drained
- 1 cup tahini, with oil
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, plus more for garnish
- 2 lemons, juiced
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- splash of water
- cumin (for garnish)
- smoked paprika (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a food processor, chop garlic. Then, add chickpeas, extra virgin olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, salt and pepper and blend. Add a splash of water to mixture to create a smoother consistency.
- Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of cumin and a pinch of smoked paprika.

Avocado Hummus
Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

- splash of water
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/3 cup chopped cilantro
- salsa verde (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a food processor, chop garlic. Then, add chickpeas, extra virgin olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, salt and pepper and blend. Add a splash of water to mixture to create a smoother consistency.
- Add avocado and cilantro and blend until well-combined.
- Garnish with a spoonful of salsa verde.
Beet Hummus
Ingredients:
- 4 cloves peeled garlic
- 4 cups canned chickpeas, drained
- 1 cup tahini, with oil
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, plus more for garnish
- 2 lemons, juiced
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- splash of water
- 1 cup beets, cooked
- fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a food processor, chop garlic. Then, add chickpeas, extra virgin olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, salt and pepper and blend. Add a splash of water to mixture to create a smoother consistency.
- Add beets and blend until well-combined.
- Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and chopped fresh cilantro.
