If you fancy yourself a bit of an expert on tea, we may have the job for you.
Active Staff is on the lookout for some new tea testers, – a job that does exactly what it says on the biscuit tin – specifically to trial teas from Twinings.
The job is part-time, requiring just four hours a week, and requires three weeks on then four weeks off, over a period of 12 months.
So it’s not exactly one to quit your day job for.
The LinkedIn ad doesn’t go into much detail on what will be required from applicants, but does state that rather than interview, there will be a screening to ensure you have ‘the desired taste sensitivity’.
We imagine this means someone who can instantly tell the difference between an oolong and a sencha, and not the type who likes their tea the colour of beige tights with five sugars.
The pay is £9.50 an hour, so with the limited hours on offer it’s not a massive money-maker.
Perhaps consider it more of a side hustle than a lucrative career to ditch your current job for.
‘Active Staff are seeking tea tasters to work on a part-time basis to test the many different flavours of tea that are created within one of the nation’s most recognisable and iconic producers of tea, Twinings,’ reads the listing.
‘This is an important and crucial role for the organisation so it is essential that you would be able to commit to this programme on an on-going basis.
‘Should you be successful, you will be selected to become a part of a group of tasters responsible for providing feedback on the variety of tea produced at Twinings.
‘When you are fully trained, the working hours will fall across two days.’
If you’re keen to apply, you can do so through LinkedIn.
