Marilyn (Emily Symons) has been admitted to hospital and placed in an induced coma after losing sensation in her legs and experiencing organ failure following the chemical attack. Logan (Harley Bonner) is left confused as to what is causing Marilyn’s condition, and Mackenzie (Emily Weir) asks him – what would he do if it wasn’t such a mystery?
Acting on Mackenzie’s advice, Logan decides to bring Marilyn out of her coma, and she awakens – but the sensation in her legs isn’t back. Marilyn encourages Alf (Ray Meagher) to go and be with Martha (Belinda Giblin), but when John (Shane Withington) and Irene (Lynne McGranger) walk in, Marilyn is very short with John, telling him to leave immediately.
Logan is confused by Marilyn’s uncharacteristic behaviour and asks John in the corridor – I thought you and Marilyn were on good terms? A bewildered John confirms that he thought the same thing…
The next morning, Logan is alarmed to discover that Marilyn has left the hospital. Meanwhile, in the Bay, Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Dean (Patrick O’Connor) are surprised when Marilyn bumps into them and invites them to breakfast. When they decline, Marilyn walks into Salt and orders a Bloody Mary.
Mackenzie tells Logan where his patient is, and he arrives along with John and Irene. However, Marilyn is adamant she doesn’t need to go back to the hospital.
The devoutly vegetarian woman then goes into the Diner and insists that Irene prepares her a beef burger…
