Adele tears up talking to fans who showed up for postponed Las Vegas show

Adele has been holed up with boyfriend Rich Paul after their “volatile” relationship allegedly contributed to the cancellation of her Las Vegas residency.

After she dramatically canceled her dates at Caesars Palace, causing an outcry from fans who spent thousands on tickets, the singer went straight to the NBA manager’s Beverly Hills home, and has remained there ever since.

Insiders say the pair have been trying to fix things, and Paul is helping her renegotiate her contract with the Vegas casino owners.

A source who knows the 33-year-old musician told Page Six, “She and Rich had been fighting, and their relationship was volatile before she canceled her dates.”

The insider continued, “Adele is very emotional and dramatic. He’s an NBA guy who has to go on the road — they are very different — and they hit a rough patch.”

Last week, we revealed the “Easy on Me” crooner was heard “shouting and sobbing” on the phone to her 40-year-old boyfriend of six months during rehearsals.

“Adele’s been crying and couldn’t get through a single full rehearsal for the past month,” said a source linked to the management team at Caesars Palace, where the shows were to take place.

“Just constantly on the phone with Rich … loudly shouting and sobbing.”

A second Vegas industry source told Page Six Monday, “There’s chatter about why Rich wasn’t in Las Vegas to support Adele — even the day before the show would have launched. Was he even going to be there for the debut?

“It’s another red flag pointing to relationship conflict as a factor in the cancellation.

“At first, we took her emotional calls [to Paul] to be about concerns with the show, but many of the conversations were actually fights.”

The “Hello” singer then dropped an emotional video on January 21 to call off her residency just hours before the show, claiming that they had “run out of time” because numerous members of the crew were down with COVID-19.

The source who knows Adele added, “Adele didn’t show up in Vegas until almost the last minute — in production terms — we think partly because of her issues with Paul.

“And when she got there, Adele hated the production and the set, and didn’t have enough time to change it.”

There were reports that the singer allegedly had clashed with the show’s production designer, wasn’t satisfied with the 60-person choir brought in to accompany her on “Skyfall” and reportedly argued that a pool she was supposed to float above on stage looked like a “baggy old pond.”

Fans are being told that their tickets will be honored from the canceled dates as soon as Adele can negotiate her return to Vegas for the weekend dates. However, there is industry chatter that the residency may never go ahead.

Adele’s show at the Colosseum of Las Vegas at Caesars Palace was originally scheduled for twice a weekend from Jan. 21 through April 16. But that now has to be scheduled around other performers booked at the venue, including Keith Urban, who stepped to fill the open dates.

A rep for Adele did not get back to us.
