The social media account said: “The Duchess of Cornwall has chatted with 90-year-old Betty from Hampshire to see how she was coping at this difficult time.
“Dame Esther Rantzen, founder of @TheSilverLineUK, also joined the call. HRH first spoke to Betty when visiting the charity’s headquarters in 2017.”
It went on: “The Duchess is Patron of @TheSilverLineUK, a charity that operates a 24-hour helpline for older people to call if they are lonely or in need of support.
“Those wishing to speak to someone can call 0800 470 8090, day or night.”
Images of the Duchess saw her posed for a picture on the telephone, looking chic and casual in jeans and a pink shirt, with a grey suit jacket.
She was joined by a Jack Russell do, who sat on her lap.
The Duchess said: “For many lonely people, the Silver Line represents a lifeline into the outside world. As its proud Patron I am thinking about all the Sliver Liners, the staff and the volunteers in these challenging times.
“Once again it was a pleasure to talk to Betty, I always find her indomitable spirit truly inspiring.

“We both agreed that we must all keep picking up the telephone, keep sharing our thoughts and keep making friends…it is these little things that help get us all through these dark days and find light at the end of them.”
Fans were quick to heap praise on the wife of Prince Charles, 71, next inline to the British throne.
One said: “Love The Duchess. Her commitment to the elderly is so lovely! And by the way: The picture with her dog is adorable.”
Another jumped online to describe Camilla as: “Our truly caring Duchess.”

“The Duchess is such an compassionate person what a sweet thing to do,” another said, while another wrote: “I love this woman!!”
“Wonderful. No doubt for many it could be the only voice they hear all day. Thank you for caring,” one more said.
Camilla and Prince Charles have been on hand to support the British public during coronavirus, despite being hit with the virus in their own home.
Prince Charles tested positive for the coronavirus, with the two being forced to self isolate in Scotland.
Thankfully the Prince only had mild symptoms, and has recovered.
He opened the a new hospital during a video call on April 3.
Charles praise the NHS for the speedy work in building the emergency hospital.
He said: “It is without doubt a spectacular and almost unbelievable feat of work in every sense, from its speed of construction in just nine days to its size and the skills of those who have created it.
“An example if ever one was needed of how the impossible can be made possible and how we can achieve the unthinkable through human will and ingenuity.
“The creation of this hospital is the result of an extraordinary collaboration and partnership between NHS managers, the military and all those involved to create a centre on a scale that has never been seen before in the United Kingdom.”
