For fans of Jeopardy looking to own a piece of game show television history, this may be of interest. Alex Trebek’s widow, Jean Trebek, has reportedly listed the Los Angeles home they once shared for a little under $7 million.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Jean is hoping to receive at least $6.995 million for the estate, which features over 10,000 square feet of living space. Situated in Studio City, the home was originally completed almost a century ago in 1923, though it’s been through a series of renovations over the years.

Alex and Jean purchased the property in 1991, only a year after getting married. They bought it for $2.15 million.
The home itself comes with 5 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms, and 4 half-baths. It sits on an acre-and-a-half of property with stunning views of the neighbourhood from all sides.
Its other features include a detached 1-bedroom guest house, 4 fireplaces, a butler’s pantry, a theatre, and a bar. The property also includes a variety of outdoor features, like a pool, mature oak trees, and is located near Wilacre Park.
The property also boasts the utmost privacy, as it’s situated in a gated community in Dryman Canyon. Some of the famous neighbours in the area include George Clooney and Teri Hatcher.
Alex passed away at the age of 80 in November 2020 after a long-time battle with pancreatic cancer, which he first publicly disclosed in March 2019. Alex and Jean had been married since 1990, and share two children together. Alex also an older child from his first marriage to Ellaine Callei.
The famous host became a household name for his decades-long career hosting Jeopardy, a position he held for 37-years. Alex filmed his final episode days before his passing.
Last month, it was reported that Jean had purchased another home in the Studio City area for $3.8 million, which is likely where she plans to live full-time following the sale of the home she shared with her late husband.
Dirt reports that the new property is smaller, only featuring a little over 3,000 square feet of living space. The home was originally constructed in 1959, though it’s been “extensively upgraded” since then. It comes with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Other features include a three-car garage, a spa-like master bathroom, a professionally designed creek, and an oval-shaped pool. It sits on 3 acres of property surrounded by tall foliage.
Jean reportedly bought the home from Clockwatchers director Jill Sphrecher, who originally purchased it for $1.8 million in 2007.
