EARLY BIRD: The early bird catches the worm – and this is certainly true with theatre and concert tickets. Sign up for updates and nab those early release tickets to get the best price and plenty of seat choice. I’ve been looking into a trip to see Mamma Mia, and if I book to see a performance Monday to Thursday inclusive 16 weeks or more ahead of the show date, I can save up to £20 on it, thanks to the Early Bird scheme.
HOLIDAYS: Last-minute holidays are exciting and there are often good deals out there. However, booking in advance will usually save you the most cash and you can pay monthly rather than all at once. CHRISTMAS PREP: The festive season can put serious strain on your purse. But getting organised in advance throughout the year, rather than November or December, will help. There’s plenty of food and booze on offer that will have a long life, and for next year, the January sales are a great opportunity to find gifts, decorations and wrapping paper for less.
