Tom Church, Co-Founder of money saving site LatestDeals.co.uk said: "Aldi is my go-to when it comes to affordable alcohol.

"You don’t need to spend a lot to get a great taste, and their wines in particular are worth exploring.

"These are my top five Aldi wine picks, including red, white and Rosé – all for under £7!"

As part of Tom's round-up, he also managed to bag some fizz for less than £15.

Here are some of his top picks for bargain booze…

Chassaux – Et – Fils Atlantique Rosé 75cl – £6.49

The Chassaux – Et – Fils Atlantique for £6.49 has an eye-catching bottle shape similar to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Miraval Rosé, which will set you back £19 a bottle.

A nice Rosé for Summer with redcurrant, rhubarb and fresh strawberry flavours.

Aldi’s alternative is a nice one to pull out at summer parties or BBQs for a talking point.

Freemans Bay New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc 75cl – £6.79

Tom said: "I love a New Zealand Sauvignon so I had to try Aldi’s Freemans bottle.

"It’s £6.79, so not the cheapest white wine at Aldi, but I think it’s great for the quality of the bottle.

"It’s a lovely pale, dry white wine.

"Perfect for summer drinking, it’s refreshing and light and was commended in the International Wine Winner Challenge 2022 awards."

Pierre Jaurant Sud De France Rosé 75cl – £5.99

This is one of Aldi’s most popular wines this summer, and apparently even Adele’s a fan.

It’s £5.99 a bottle and is inspired by the famous Whispering Angel wine, which is a whopping £20 a bottle.

It’s pale and light, and definitely worth it’s under £6 price tag – another perfect summer Rosé.

Specially Selected Australian Shiraz – £6.99

Olly Smith, wine expert on BBC Saturday Kitchen Live, listed this in his top-30 full-bodied wines.

At just £6.99 a bottle it’s a great deal.

Tom added: "I love pairing this with things like lamb curries, steak or a nice cheese board.

"It has flavours of plum and red berries, and for the price I think it’s definitely worth trying if you haven’t already.

"It’s the perfect bottle to have ready for unexpected guests."

Estevez Chilean Malbec 75cl – £5.29

Estevez Chilean Malbec is a secret dark horse at Aldi.

According to Vivino, a crowd-sourced wine review site, it's ranked in the top 9% of wines in the world and top 6% of wines from Central Valley, Chile.

At £5.29, it has the highest review to price score of all Malbecs, declaring it best value for money.

It isn’t the cheapest red that Aldi sells, but at just £5.29 a bottle it’s great value.

It’s a Chilean full bodied wine with rich plummy notes.

Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut 75cl – £14.99

"Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut is great value at just £14.99 a bottle," said Tom.

"It’s Made by Philizot et Fils in the Marne Valley in France and is flavoured with baked apple, brioche and peach, so it’s a really delicious choice.

"I would always take Champagne over prosecco, but the price can be off putting, so finding a bottle for under £15 at Aldi is great."
