Body language expert on what royals are thinking as Charlotte starts school

A body language expert had revealed what William and Kate were thinking on Princess Charlotte 's first day of school.

The four-year-old royal looked adorable in her brand new uniform as she arrived for her first day of school with her proud parents at Thomas Battersea's school in south-west London.

Her big brother, Prince George , is already a student at the £6,305-a-term private school in London, and was seen walking in with her

The Cambridge family were greeted by Helen Haslem, head of lower school, as William said his daughter was "very excited".

But what is really going on with their body language?

Here, body language expert Judi James analyses the hidden signals behind the smiles as the princess excitedly skipped into school with her big brother.


Judi said: "If there's any tension showing in the body language here, it's coming from William and Kate, rather than their children, as they walk into the yard clutching a child each, wearing rather unconvincing smiles that look brave rather than genuinely happy."

She continued: "As Charlotte pulls at her arm playfully and begins to lag behind, Kate glances down to check with a nervous glance.
