Influencer Karina Irby has hit back at trolls who slammed her for sharing a weight loss snap to her Instagram.
The Australian babe, who is also a bikini brand owner, often shares the ‘reality’ behind social media to her 1.2 million followers in her body positive posts.
Karina is never shy about sharing ‘candid’ shots of her natural body – peachy beach bum included.
However, she has recently received some slack from her followers for sharing a weight loss photo.
The beauty previously posted a side by side snap of her seven week journey and even shared the simple ways she managed to lose some pounds.
Despite her best efforts, Karina has now been trolled as some believe that this post is not ‘body positive’ and ‘promotes’ weight loss which is ‘harmful’.
The influencer has now hit back at those who blasted her for sharing the original snap – and even revealed some of the nasty remarks she received.
“You’re the account I check when I’m feeling bad about myself. Now I have no one. Let down,” one accused.
“I wish you the worst because this post has wished me mine. Rip,” another cruelly blasted.
And, this user jibed: “Trigger warning or not this post can be super harmful…the side by side, the negative food talk."
Although Karina was met with some negativity, the blonde babe has now hit back and put the record straight as she posed in a pink bikini that flaunted her natural tum.
Karina explained: “This is not a name and shame.
“Everybody deserves to want to move their bodies and not be shamed for that.
“Am I only allowed to make and post content when I’m not feeling good about my body?” she questioned.
The influencer then reminded her fans what body positivity means to her.
She preached: “Body Positivity is about LOVING YOUR BODY AT ALL STAGES.
“Loving your body as whole, not a certain size. And loving for what it's capable of, how it feels, not just focusing on how it looks.
“Influencer or not, if your mental and physical is telling you to make a few changes, that’s your right.”
Karina continued: “No one should feel bullied or worried about working on themselves because of what others may or may not say.
“We all need to be nicer to one another, keep an open mind to other people's journeys, and if you find someone’s content a little triggering, just remember it wasn’t put there to upset you.
“It just simply wasn’t made for you. Keep scrolling and enjoy the sunshine.”
Feeling supportive towards Karina, many fans rushed to the comments to defend her choice to post what she likes.
One person commented: “It’s not your job to make people feel better about themselves, that’s an inside job! You are amazing in everything you do and I love love love you!!!”
Another user added: “I hate that you have to deal with this. Sending so much love.”
Whilst a third person voiced: “Being body positive is loving yourself at any shape or size. People are just trying to justify themselves, their poor attitudes and behaviours!
“Haters going to hate. Block them out and keep doing you, whatever makes you happy and healthy!”
Someone else shared: “You are not responsible for other people’s triggers or feelings!”
Meanwhile, a fifth fan expressed: “People being mad at you do something to be healthier and feel better is odd behaviour.”
