How does the foil cleaning method work?
The cleaning method works so efficiently because of a chemical reaction between the aluminium foil and the dishwasher tablet, which breaks down all of the dirt.
The aluminum foil reacts with the dissolving dishwashing tablet.

According to Australia’s property maintenance company Fantastic Services, foil doesn’t have any cleaning properties but the aluminium works well on shining utensils and even oven racks.
Her video has since been viewed more than 23,000 times, with many saying they were blown away with the simple and easy trick.
Some were still confused with how the cleaning method works but one woman explained that boiling baking soda with foil helps clean tarnished silverware.
‘Why it could work… a lot of soaps contain baking soda and most dishwashers run at very high temperatures,’ she said.
The trick comes just weeks after a mum revealed the secret to getting perfectly dry dishes from the dishwasher was to place a clean tea towel on the door.
Posting on her ‘The organised housewife’ account, she explained she does this after the cleaning cycle has been completed to help soak up the moisture.
‘Awesome tip to help remove moisture from your dishwasher,’ she said.
