Getting married soon? Love handmade crafts and homeware from independent artisans? You’re in luck.

Etsy has just launched a new wedding registry service in the UK that allows couples to request anything on the site, from trinkets and artworks to furnishings and garden essentials.

All you need to do is create your registry and start adding gifts. Guests can then search your list or access it via a link, ticking off an item if they’ve bought it.

While most department stores have their own similar services, you’re more likely to find something unique among the small businesses on Etsy.

That’s clearly what shoppers are looking for too, as the retailer has seen an 872% increase in searches for handmade gifts compared to last year.

The gifts newlyweds want have changed too. In years gone by it was less common for couples to cohabit before marriage, so they’d typically need essentials and appliances ahead of their first home.

Nowadays, they’ve often been living together for a while ahead of the wedding and have the basics down, which means it’s less about need and more about want.

Since there’s a lot worth wanting on Etsy, we’ve picked our favourite 20 pieces to add to your registry. Say ‘I do’ to these wedding gifts and get ready to beautify your marital abode.
