Tarek El Moussa made a great first impression on girlfriend Heather Rae Young, but a comment he made caught her off guard.
The “Selling Sunset” star, 32, told Page Six recently that she was on a boat that was docked at Woody’s Wharf in Newport Beach, California, when El Moussa, 38, came up and introduced himself.
Young said she thought he was “endearing,” “sweet” and “funny.”
However, when the “Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa” star proposed they go to Paris together within minutes of meeting, Young said she responded, “What?! Do I want to go to Paris with you? No, I don’t even know you.”

Fortunately, she did accept an invitation for drinks, which led to the couple chatting for “six hours” and “FaceTiming the whole way home.”
“Ever since then we’ve been inseparable,” Young added.
In August of 2019, the couple went public with their relationship.
Young said her now-boyfriend lived up to his initial invitation to the City of Love, and the pair jetted off to Paris on Thanksgiving for a “whirlwind, romantic vacation.”
“We moved in together really quick after only a few weeks, and we know each other so well,” the Netflix star shared. “He’s my best friend. He’s an open book. He is who he is and so am I, so everything’s been amazing.”

El Moussa was previously married to Christina Anstead, with whom he starred in HGTV’s “Flip or Flop.” They divorced in 2018, and the exes share 9-year-old daughter Taylor and 4-year-old son Brayden.
Christina remarried and welcomed a baby boy with husband Ant Anstead in 2019.
Young told us having a blended family with El Moussa’s kids have taught her to be “more patient, kind, selfless.”
“I honestly worry about them all the time — even when they’re not with us, I’m worrying, so I’m hoping to get over that, maybe when we’ve been together a couple years I can stop the stress,” she said.
The reality star admitted that she “didn’t know” if she wanted kids of her own yet, but is “so happy with the situation that I have and just living day to day.”
