A nationwide round of applause is set to take place at 8pm on Thursday 26 March to thank NHS workers for putting their lives on the line to help tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
The campaign, named #ClapForOurCarers, invites everyone to join together on front doorsteps, gardens, out of windows, on balconies or in their living rooms for a countrywide applause which is set to be huge.
Celebrating doctors, nurses, GPs and carers, the UK's round of applause will give thanks to the people who have been put under pressure working around the clock, to help people in this time of uncertainty.

The superheroes in scrubs will be applauded after the NHS shared a message reading: "During these unprecedented times they need to know we are grateful.
"Please join us on: 26th of March at 8pm for a big applause (from front doors, garden, balcony, windows, living rooms etc) to show all nurses; doctors; gps and careers our appreciation for their ongoing hard work and fight against this virus.
"Please share this message, so we can make sure the word spreads and reaches all to join!"
Over 4,000 retired doctors and nurses are selflessly returning to help with the crisis and they are dealing with an emotional strain that most aren't used to.

As well as this, car insurance company, Veygo, is offering NHS staff 75 per cent off a temporary insurance policy.
NHS staff wishing to take advantage of the offer should first take out the policy they need. They can then email a copy of their NHS staff badge to [email protected], along with their insurance policy number to arrange a 75 per cent refund on the policy cost.
