The Holby City 20 year celebrations continue tonight with more return characters – and it’s a huge episode for Jac Naylor (Rosie Marcel) as Joseph Byrne (Luke Roberts) comes back to Holby.
A massive storm is devastating the city with floods, fallen trees and many road accidents. Jac Naylor, just back from Jonny Mac’s wedding, is one of the few surgeons who’ve managed to make it into work. She’s not in the best mood to begin with as she’s left daughter Emma in the Caribbean with Jonny and his new wife and she’s missing her daughter. To make a bad day spectacularly worse, she discovers that a patient on her ward is none other than her arch rival, Faye Morton (Patsy Kensit).
Faye has been a patient at St James’s, which is cut off by the floods, so she’s been brought to Holby instead. Then as Jac waits outside in the rain for another patient to arrive by ambulance, she’s shocked to see a familiar figure in the distance. Joseph Byrne, the love of her life, is back at Holby – and he’s with Faye.
Expect sizzling scenes as Jac and Joseph discover that the chemistry between them is as strong as ever, while there’s no love lost between Jac and Faye, who are daggers drawn. Poor Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw) is caught in the middle, rapidly picking up on the bitchy comments, stolen glances and undercurrents swirling around Faye’s bedside.
With her rival’s heart literally in Jac’s hands, can she maintain focus and save Faye’s life, even though that will probably mean she loses Joseph forever? And when Joseph is reminded of his old life at Holby and the intense passion between him and Jac, will he be able to walk away again?
Sue Haasler is the author of the official Holby City book, which you can read about here. Her latest novel, Half A World Away, is out now.
