Chrissy Teigen‘s Halloween costume is wicked cool.
The model and author, 33, suited up as Maleficent in a custom latex costume by celebrity-loved brand Vex at a spooky bash she and husband John Legend hosted Thursday night.
The latex label gave Page Six Style a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit stunner’s sexy getup, which is comprised of a skintight black bodysuit with sculptural details at the hips along with a matching bold-shouldered cape and, of course, Maleficent’s signature horns.
Plus, there’s an illuminating twist to Teigen’s look: the horns, bodysuit and cape all feature elements that glow under UV lights.
According to Vex designer Laura Petrielli-Pulice, Teigen’s team reached out via Instagram in the weeks leading up to Halloween to request an “epic latex look” for the annual bash, which this time featured a glow-in-the-dark theme.
“The team decided on Maleficent as Chrissy and John had a vision for their family to be characters from ‘Sleeping Beauty,’” Petrielli-Pulice explained. “Earlier in the day, Chrissy dressed as one of the fairies to trick-or-treat with her kids. John was obviously Prince Phillip!”
After an initial meeting to review sketches, Vex had about two weeks to create the costume before Teigen’s first fitting. “Getting the right proportion for the 3D shapes and manipulating the latex — which normally has a stretch — to become rigid is always a challenge, but I think it turned out perfect,” Petrielli-Pulice said.
“Chrissy and her team definitely had the vision, and executed it so well. The contacts and facial prosthetics were the perfect finishing touch!”
And it seems Teigen was thrilled with the final product, too. “I NEED. MORE. LATEX. IN MY LIFE. no more parties but more latex,” she wrote on Instagram Friday.
