DEAR DEIDRE: GOING to my local newsagents is excruciatingly embarrassing after I asked a woman, who works on the till, out for a drink.
I am 26 and she is 23. We used to have a little chat each time I shopped there.
She would always smile at me, and she definitely gave me flirty vibes.
I became attracted to her and wanted to ask her out, but she was always too busy working or talking to her colleagues.
I was scrolling through Facebook and found her profile, so I sent her a friend request.
She accepted so I then suggested going out for a drink, but she didn’t reply.

She still talks to me but sometimes when I comment on her posts she doesn’t react. Some of my comments even look as if they have been deleted.
Should I send her another message asking if she is OK with me commenting on her posts? I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong?

DEIDRE SAYS: Asking someone out through messaging may feel intimidating for some.
She may be embarrassed and doesn’t know what to say.
You have no reason to feel awkward but if she doesn’t reply or react to your comments it may be best to back off, put this down to experience and move on.
Avoid the shop for a while if it makes you uncomfortable.
