I’m a mum to a four-year-old son but in 2012, I worked in a newsagent.

My mother was never at home and I never knew my dad. Mum was drinking too much and bringing men back home for casual sex. It was awful.

I went into work one Saturday and my boss told me he was concerned, and suggested that I move in with him.

He protected me and made me feel safe. We became lovers but he was 15 years older than me.

He bought me gifts and my friends were so jealous. Then he gave me an engagement ring and we married six months later.
